ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ, ਚਮਕੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਯੁੱਧਾਂ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 1705 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਰਨ-ਛੋਹ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਮਰ-ਕੱਸਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਤੇ ਦਮ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਈ। ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਡੱਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੰਡੇ ਬਾਟੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਹੁਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਜਾਇਆ। ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪਾਵਨ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕਰ, ਪਾਵਨ ਸਰੂਪ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਲਿਖਵਾ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਰੇਖ ਹੇਠ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ-ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ, ਲਿਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਆਰੰਭ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ਨਿਯਤ ਕੀਤਾ। 1960 ਈ: ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁ:ਪ੍ਰ:ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪਾਸ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਲੌਂਗੋਵਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਕਾਨ੍ਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨਾਭਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ “ਹਮ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਨਹੀਂ” ਸਬੰਧੀ ਛਿੜਿਆ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਨਜਦੀਕ ਹੀ ਗੁ: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁ: ਨਾਨਕਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁ: ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁ: ਲਿਖਣਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁ: ਜੰਡ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਬੁਰਜ ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਆਦਿ ਸਥਾਨ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ-ਯੋਗ ਹਨ।

After the religious wars of Sri Anandpur Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib and Muktsar, the tenth father Guru Gobind Singh Ji blessed and sanctified the land of Guru Kanshi Takht Sri Damdama Sahib for the first time in 1705 AD. The place where Guru Sahib Ji first came, opened his loins and breathed his last, the same place became famous as Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. At this holy place, Chaudhary Dalle was decorated with the title of Singh by giving him the Khande Bata. Before his journey to the south, at this holy place, he recorded the holy Bani of Sahib Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji in the holy form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and completed the holy form by getting it written by Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji. Under the supervision of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, he started a mint for reading, teaching, writing and communicating the meaning of Gurbani and appointed Baba Deep Singh Ji as the chief servant of this place. In 1960 AD, the management of this holy place came under the control of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Sant Harchand Singh Ji Longowal was appointed as the Jathedar. This holy Takht ended the controversy that arose regarding the work of Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha regarding “We are not Hindus”. Near this holy Takht, places like Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Guru Nanaksar Sahib, Guru Manji Sahib, Guru Lakhnsar Sahib, Guru Jand Sahib, Burj Baba Deep Singh Ji etc. are worth visiting.
