Amritsar, March 29: A two-day Gurmat Samagam (religious programme) will be held on May 8 and 9 at Tatanagar, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand to mark the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, which will be attended by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur.
A delegation of Sikhs from Tatanagar on Monday met SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur in this regard at Amritsar.
Disclosing this here today Bibi Jagir Kaur said that religious programmes dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Guru are being held at various places across the country. “Similarly, a programme would be organized at Tatanagar in collaboration with the sangat there. The main event on the occasion of 400th Prakash Purab would be held on May 1 at Amritsar while the events would continue throughout the year at various places”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Meanwhile, the president of Central Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jamshedpur S. Gurmukh Singh said that the main programme at Amritsar to mark the fourth centenary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji would be attended by sangat from Jharkhand. Following a grand function would be organised on May 8 and 9 at Tatanagar, Jamshedpur.
After the meeting, Bibi Jagir Kaur honoured the members of the delegation from Tatanagar Jamshedpur with Siropaos (robe of honour).
On this occasion SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, OSD Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, Dr Sukhbir Singh, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, in-charge Manjit Singh, head pracharak Bhai Jagdev Singh, Bhai Daljit Singh Sandhu from Tatanagar Jamshedpur, S. Inderjit Singh, S. Harjinder Singh, S. Gurtaj Singh, S. Pritpal Singh, S. Amandeep Singh, S. Jaswinder Singh and others were present.
